412LS Variant...how much is it worth?

Post by Wireless » 18th May 2016 - 9:14pm

Hi All,

I don't normally ask but on this occasion I just don't have a clue.

What is a SORNed Spares or Repair 412LS Variant worth, with no engine or gearbox, no auxillary heater, no glass, no fuel tanks, and no door handles/cards, no external lights? Has a V5 obviously.

The wife is giving me a lot of earache about having it here, and someone is interested, but I don't want to be giving it away.

Requires some welding to the floor, and a few repairs to rust on wings.

Just this once, will anyone give me a clue?

Type 4s are generally worth less than Type 3s, and with so much missing, it's probably only worth the scrap value - maybe £60. I can't see it making as much as £200. It's not really a donor car with so much missing, though obviously there is still quite a bit of stuff that could be salvaged. Is it sound enough in body for someone to want to transfer the missing parts from a rusted shell? What price is domestic harmony worth?

OTOH Screwfix offered me a Lithium-Ion rechargeable hedge trimmer at a special price of £199 the other day, and I'd still need to cut the hedge and clear the clippings away myself!

Cheers Dave,

Apparently he's got plans for it as a works van, and thinking of putting a Golf Diesel engine in it...

I've asked him to make me an offer, lets see if the earache will be abated.
