As the fastback build is only a few weeks away from being finished I was thinking about club membership.

Is it still an active club? It’s only £5 a year so won’t break the bank but can anyone give me their thoughts? I’m in the East Midlands and would like to go to the odd car show with it? Does the club participate actively in Car shows?

I think so, I'm a member, but I have found it a struggle to get Type 3 owners to turn up to my local shows.

There are a number of major events the club has a stand and/or line-up at. Danny Lord organises the line-ups Stanford Hall is a major show we are at. Also there are some owners who go to some of the European events.
Quite a number of insurers offer lower rates to club members, so that could also be a reason to join up.
We used to produce a Yearbook and 4 or 5 Newsletters a year, but it's a lot of work, so we don't reckon to do that any more - hence the £5 membership.
There's a form in the club section on here, but we're still dinosaurs and use cheques and snail-mail for membership. The treasurer can provide the bank account details if you want to make a transfer that way.

Not sure if anyone can help.

Not sure how long ago it was, maybe 4-5 weeks, but I sent off a membership form and a cheque. Not heard anything back.

Any ideas?

Welcome! I do apologise for the delays - when we had half a dozen new members per week, things had to move more quickly, but without the regular magazines etc, with all the work and cost that entailed, we find the forum takes most of the load, and the relatively few who need or wish to be members is reducing so Barbara deals with them when she collects a few, which can take a couple of months.
