Type 3 Spares availability

Post by Pdjordy » 21st March 2018 - 8:06pm

I have just recent bought a type 3 after owning several other air cooled motors. Can anyone advise on good places to go for replacement panels, looks like mine needs works in the usual places! Are the parts a bit harder to source?

I think with the Type 3 panels, its a question of, none available, not manufactured any more

or NOS expensive panels. Repair sections are available from Typ3konny and the like, and its possible

to pick up some stuff if you are lucky. But I think its a question of getting handy at the metal bashing

skills, and make your own.

there are parts around, you can buy full or part floor sections. pan edge sections. From VWH or Custom and commercial. Klassic fab do panels too but you will need open wallet surgery.

Or you can get type 1 panels and mod them.

Various sills are available too. Try German ebay

As above really, I'm afraid!
The general rule of thumb, is that if You see parts (at a reasonable price) You buy them!
This may help: http://www.vwtype3and4club.org.uk/_docs ... rtswap.htm
