The greatest type 3/4 display or asking the impossible?!

Post by Danny Lord » 19th December 2005 - 9:32pm

HI everybody was thinking of trying to put to together the ultimate T3/4 display next year, as its the clubs 20th (or is it 21st?) birthday, had in mind of doing display of each model year (Notchs '61 - '73, fasties '65-'73 411s '68- '74? etc) was thinking of having it at VW expo Paddock wood in Kent or Ultra VWs bug boogie at Hicksted showground in Sussex or maybe Stanford hall anyone got any other venue ideas? need somewhere with a lot of space. is anyone interested in showing their cars? please let me know, will be back here sometime next month (dont have my own pc so using my buddies) or you can phone/text me on 07956 605 333. hope you all have a Merry Christmas and Happy new year.

Great idea - and quite a tough aim to have. I'll be there with a '71 Variant, if I get certain things done over the winter!

You can have a '73 FB too.
Can't remember when production stopped., but ours was built 4/5/73 - pretty late.

20 years meet

Post by Jane Terry » 15th January 2006 - 10:15pm

Hi if we get a floor for our new workshop we have a twenty acre field to hold it in just need help with organising toilets, advertising and parking. Have to be late August or early September so that the fields will be mowed after making hay. So no sheep poo to make things dirty. :D :D

Kent venue

Hello Jane.
That would be fun - like the old days.
Combine it with a booze cruise too, perhaps, to help things go with a swing.

Hi everybody, I have spoken to organizers at Stanford hall they are happy to have a type 3/4 display there although they said they could only manage about 25 spaces, im sure they could give us more room if needed. Thanks to everyone in letting me know your interested in displaying your cars, I have started to make a list, dont think theres any type 4s yet, a friend of mine is buying/bought a type 3 panel van hopefully that will be there.

Anyone got a Brazillia/sp2 they can bring along? please keep spreading the word.
