Type 3 clocks

Post by ozzy » 16th February 2011 - 3:16pm

My mate has a variant and his clocks are maroon faced but all the clocks I've seen are bluey grey, are his clocks special or something??

All the gauges were either Grey (61 - 71) or Black faced (72 -)
Anything different to that will have been customised.

Quite possibly... The numbers are all printed on to a clear plate so they appear to be floating.
The grey / black part is just a backing plate, if you can get it all to bits then its simple enough to repaint it a different colour.
It used to be popular back in the 80's / early 90's to paint them the colour of the car.
They only came the two colours from the factory - trust me! ;)

I believe you as the car in question has or had as it's going for parts now frenched rear lights and a few other 80's custom tricks but the clocks do look factory, they must have had plenty of time on their hands back then, lol
