I was at my local exhaust fitters this morning getting my beemer looked at. Whilst I was waiting I spotted a very dusty exhaust in their storage rack. I reckon it's a reproduction type 3 exhaust but where the heater boxes should be it had large fine threaded nuts.
Would anybody be interested in it? How much should I offer them for it?

Re: Stock type 3 exhaust
The going rate is about £100 Rob,but its not unknown to pick them up a lot cheaper than that!Offer them £30 & go up in £10 increments!
The Primary heaters are attached using those big nuts
Once you've secured it,measure the tailpipe outlet-if its 38mm its for the early (2 piece)tailpipe,if its 43.5 mm its for late (single piece)

Picked it up today. Here's some pics
THe tail pipe measures 38mm so it's an early one.
Says ERNST, GERMANY and a load of numbers on it.
