Built this day in 1972........

Post by Danny Lord » 29th September 2013 - 10:10am

left the Wolfsburg factory on 5th October, cruised the street's of Germany for a couple of years then imported to the U.K in 1974 (hence the N reg) bought by me in 1994, sold in 1995, bought back again in 1999 for a grand less than what I sold it for, blew up two engines in (I think) 2010 one spectacularly in Germany! the other a month later at London Volksfest, restored by my dad with a bit of help by me in 2011/2 paint is not perfect but hey ho! no matter how many times it's broken down I would never sell it! Volkswagen's gotta love 'em

Happy 41st birthday :), she looks very pretty.

I just missed celebrating the 40th for my 412 on 20th September, but as I don't have the birth certificate I couldn't be sure

Nice story, are those original Cosmics? I have just been offered a set but I'm unsure of the offset, they look just right on your notch. The guy selling them showed me a pic of 14 stamped on the rims but I'm sure they have a better offset than that.
