BUYERS BEWARE VWAUDI PARTS BREAKERS IN WEST SUSSEX

Post by MATTT » 18th October 2013 - 10:28am

though i would cuat and paste this from VZI
just in case anyone off here is goingto buy parts from them......

I'm hoping someone would have been through this situation on here and have some advice
I bought a T3 fuel sender as I've been unable to find a new one, from a VW specialist breakers in West Sussex who are breaking a damaged yellow square on eBay
Fitted it today and it's not reading at all,my one is jammed and rusted on half a tank.quick resistance measure and it's open circuit ,you can hear the float moving though.rechecked the gauge by grounding the wire and it reads full so not the gauge
Gave them a quick ring,to ask if I could break the paint seal on the nut and try and sort it out as I haven't another source and wanted to keep it really
Before I could barely get a word in they accused me of either not fitting it correctly or damaging it,I tried to explain it was only one wire and mentioned Im an electronics engineer ,and was told well you obviously know everything so why are you wasting my time ringing up,and no you can't send it back,no,refunds given.
I didn't actually get much of a say as they put the phone down on me
I rang back and was told if I ring again they would get my number blocked by BT,I never raised my voice or swore once as I'm generally pretty placid!
I overheard someone in the background saying he's trying it on and he's a fffing time waster ,
I paid on a debit card ,over the phone, and I've never had such a terrible response from a company before,I was actually kind of on there side ,as it's a old part and fairly fragile and i cant see a reason why they would knowingly sell a faulty part ,equally its not as if i want to have to try and find another one elsewhere and so I was willing to try and fix it
Even said at one point I was willing to drive down and show them,as long as they paid for my petrol if I was right(it's a 90 minute drive away)

Its an old part and they probably didn't test it before selling it, if you want a new one ISPWest do one.

There's even four detailed images of the sender unit on that link.

they are not rocket science, I rebuilt mine even after the wire snapped. if you know how to use a soldering iron in then they can be rebuilt!

but yeah, that's pretty bad customer service and I'll avoid like the plague..
