Shhh, other forum advice

Post by 937carrera » 19th May 2014 - 12:34am

I have just bought another VW, but strictly between you and me it's one of those new fangled water cooled things. :)

Alright, I confess, I have done it before having had a Jetta Gli and a couple of Sciroccos in the past. This time it's a Polo Gti, vintage 2000 as a replacement for my little Clio (which has been an embarrasingly good little runaround for the past 7 years). First job is an engine swap as the car I bought has a siezed engine.

Question is, where's the best place to go to get good technical advice like you can on here ? (I'm not leaving, the 412's staying in the fleet and it will be on the road just as soon as those nice people at the DVLA give me an Historic tax disc :) )

Maybe www.clubpolo.co.uk . There's some guys on there who've been into Polos for decades - pretty knowledgeable. My son did a lot of work on the website and forum years back, but he's not involved now.

If you want any bits for it Edition 38 may be worth a look...from a technical viewpoint it's a little too focused on big wheels and airbag suspension but has quite active classifieds areas.

OK, thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm now registered over at clubpolo.co.uk and uk-polos.net. I didn't realise that you don't get to see the technical posts on clubpolo until you registered. Edition 38 didn't appear on any of my original searches so good to know about that site Chino. I see what you mean about focussed on big wheels :)
