Hello from East Yorkshire

Post by hogman » 6th August 2014 - 11:15am

Hi everyone
Am new on here and am looking for a type 3, am based in East Yorkshire.
Is there any info on specifics on what to look for, or does anyone know of any decent but not too expensive ones for sale?
Many thanks
Kevin

Welcome Kevin.

There's a brief buyer's guide on the forum in the Technical section at http://www.vwtype3and4club.org.uk/_docs ... eType3.htm

You'll find plenty of horror pictures in the project section, but basically the lower 6" of the body and floorpan edges are particularly likely to have rust or have been repaired. Mechanically, most of the parts are available through specialist suppliers or more cheaply from other forum members.

Keep an eye on the adverts on the forum - people on here are pretty honest about what they're selling. There are still reasonably sound ones around for sensible prices, but you may have to be a bit patient.
Dave.
