help choosing a floorpan gasket
Hi folks as the title, I'm now at the point of needing a pan gasket ordering . but I'm not sure what to buy and were from? Are they same as bug? Is cheaper less cheerful ?

They're not the same as a beetle, but as that's all that's available its what you have to use.
From memory you need two as they aren't quite long enough.
The rear corners are a lot tighter on a type 3 and its a struggle to get it to go round in one piece - the original seal had moulded corners and was nailed in place.

Try and find one suitable for a type 1 KG, which is longer due to wider pans. On the rear corner on the KG the join is mitred or overlapped since it's almost a right angle.

Thanks for your advice folks , I've found a few places that advertise extra long rolls for type 3 and Ghia, so I'll let you know how it goes.

Just a quick update on this,
The heritage one was plenty long enough. But I did end up pie cutting it for the tightest corners and using sikaflex type sealer to stick it down held in place by masking tape and left overnight to set.
