Heater Controls

Post by vweddy69 » 9th May 2016 - 8:21am

I am missing the slider control knobs from the drivers and passenger side panels. The wires are there and can be pulled, moving the flaps. Any availability on the control knobs, or alternatives?

No promises Tony, but I might have some.
Do you also need the trim plates they run in and the clamps for the wire?

Mike, that would be great if you do. Will take a photo of how they are and send it over to you,

I remember having the complete set up and all I needed were the flaps & wires. I'm hoping I still have what's left, as I vaguely remember photoing them for someone - I will start looking tonight...

I'm sorry to say Tony I don't think I have them any more.
I had a good look over the weekend and yesterday found the flaps and wires, but the bits you need are not with them.
As I said, I remember taking a picture of them for someone, so it looks like I let them go.
Unfortunately they are the sort of thing that often gets taken off and lost, but hopefully someone has some for you.

Apologies for keeping you waiting.

I must have some somewhere - I'll see. Is it just the knobs you're missing, or do you need the threaded rod and plate that slides in the channel behind that the knob screws onto to clamp the cable? http://home.clara.net/hallvw/type3/T3pbo/T3pb2-18.htm items 38 shows the flap and clip and wire as well, but how much of the rest are you missing?
Dave.

Hi Dave, I will take a photo a post it over. I've also asked back at Paul Medhurst at T2D.

Many thanks,

The knobs have a plastic disc which should be carefully removed to get to the screw that holds them on the spindle. You need a thin screwdriver blade (electrical type?), but the knob part is fairly flexible plastic It is possible to lever the knob off, but it tends to damage the knob.
