Rear hubs redrilling- 4/130 to 5/130 Fuchs
Rear hubs redrilling- 4/130 to 5/130 Fuchs
Hi
I am looking to fit Fuchs 5/130 to my 68 Fastback IRS 4 stud. I have new correct pattern discs for the front, but need to get the rear hubs re-drilled.
Any recommendations? Advice? I would prefer not to go down the adapter route!!
Thanks
Matt

You must use studs that press in from the back of the hub. There is not enough thickness in the hub where the new holes are for threaded studs.

Ok thanks. Any suggestions for where I could get this machining done?

I don't know anywhere in particular, but a machine shop / engineer local to you that have manual machines.
Get the studs first. I got mine from Machine 7, length depends on the wheels & they can advise.

Drilling and tapping is likely to cost upwards of £70 a corner, with the possibility of weakening the original casting, there's the story of a guy that did this and ran them for a year without incident, then one day at 30mph the studs ripped out of the hub. I'd have thought it easier, cheaper, and safer to buy wheel adaptors, such as these below
