stereo mounting - piccies pls?

Post by kinga » 29th July 2016 - 6:02pm

Hi all,

Looking to get me some tunes in my fastback - was looking at Retrosound, but they are not cheap & no CD player - I am old(ish) school and all of my music is on CD.

Just wondering what people have done re stereos on show - i realise I could hide one in the glovebox, but think I would rather have mine on show and have an old-looker.

Can anyone post any piccies up to show what they have done?

I am mostly concerned about how the stereo would look from the side as I assume you would be able to see the casing of the stereo?

I was looking at this one with a CD player...

I have the original stereo in mine in what I assume is a period or possibly factory pod that hangs below the ashtray.

I don't really want to remove the stereo in it as I like the look.

I was going to mount one in the glovebox to keep it clean but then I'm not into CDs these days. I just want to connect Bluetooth to my phone.

Be interested to see what people post on this thread. :)

Was looking at an OEM 'looking' one but with modern electronics, possibly like Retro Sound model with hidden aerial (already on its way from China!) and some box speakers fitted under the seats.

Should have some ok-ish tunes off MP3 or USB stick with factory looks!

Have decided I am going to buy a loud Bluetooth speaker and connect to our phone. Speaker will sit on a bamboo shelf.
