Hi all,
Just wondering if you can help me. In the process of cleaning my tank and tried to remove the rusted fuel sock from the sender hole with long nose pilers as there was no other way to get it out however as you can sort of see from my picture it snapped off close to the base. Is there a better way to remove the rest of it or just get long pilers and keep pulling? Also do I really need to replace the sock or will a good quality high flow fuel filter on the line do the job too?
Thanks guys
Joe

Fuel tank sock
Re: Fuel tank sock
It comes out from below once the pipe fitting is removed (big nut).

Re: Fuel tank sock
Thanks Mikey, sorry i wasn't so clear i've already taken the big nut off which is connected to the fuel line however this sock decided to stay put i can only assume its rusted on a stubborn. Any advise on how to get the rest of it off? Thanks again
Re: Fuel tank sock
The best way is still from the bottom. Its a top hat profile the lower part is a soft aluminium ring. If you look at a new one (beetle part) then it would be obvious.
