I noticed after dismantling the car for a resto, that there were no reverse lights in either side. There weren't even any bulb holders, although it does look like there is wiring present.
I also noticed when pulling the engine and gearbox out that there wasn't a reverse switch on the gearbox.
Should mine have reverse lights? I'd ideally like to fit them, I just don't know where the reverse switch would go?

Thanks jmarkha1
If I can't see one attached to the gearbox, is there likely a blank that I can remove?
How much are the rear lights?

Re: 1973 Fastback reverse lights
There should be a blank if not fitted - google will help you
Essentially - the reverse lights are fed 12v from the coil or local ignition source and the switch earths them when switch pushed by rod inside gearbox.
Sell the lights for 10.00 each - they are both very good - can send you some pics tomorrow if useful plus postage - probably 24.00 all in if useful to you.

Re: 1973 Fastback reverse lights
None of the lower trim TA (or Variant A) models got reversing lights as standard. As you say, no bulb-holders either.
If the wiring is there, you should find a brown 'torpedo' shaped fuse-holder in the engine bay. Power is obtained from the ignition (terminal 15 on the coil). you need to use an inline fuse as the ignition is not fused at all.
The switch is screwed into the nose of the gearbox - there's a plug to remove, I believe.
