steel wheels
planning lowering 2 notch front . 1 on rear with steel wheels what size wheel on rear and front with largest tyre possible with no rubbing . best place buy correct steel wheel with correct offset
Re: steel wheels
best to get the wheels first and then measure up if you want max tyres.
i would say 4.5 on front and 5.5j on back - ideally with ET42 wheels.
depending on what look you're after - a tried and tested would be 195/65/15 on back and 145/15 on front for classic stance - prob get fatter tyres on but best fit and measure before buying...
also depends on what year the car is - if it's IRS on back you can squeeze quite a lot under there due to minimal camber

Re: steel wheels
I'm confused - is this car from an odd corner of the world? 1972 is normally double-joint axle, not swing-axle. There was a Swedish heavier load spec one with swing-axle, I believe.
