engine lid saloon 411 and 412 the same

Post by vwacw » 3rd May 2017 - 10:42pm

Hopefully someone can confirm if the engine lid on a 411 and 412 are interchangeable. As I have a 412 and been offered an engine lid that may be from a 411 or 412. As it is overseas don't want to take a risk. thanks in advance

The part number isn't listed in ETKA (as I suspect you have already found)

I can have a look tomorrow to see if the part number is stamped anywhere if that would help

thank you in advance David as this would definitely help. From the pictures I received of the lid for sale it compares to mine with 23 louvres in the top of the engine lid. I also took a picture of Shaun's tidy 411 at Stanford hall and from I can tell they look the same.
kind regards
peter

There aren't any numbers stamped, but when I looked I realised that I happen to have both a 411 and 412 bootlid so I have compared them and they look the same.

Here's a couple of photos for you. I know what you want to ask, but until my saloon is restored I'm hanging onto both of them as I'm not sure which one is the best to use, sorry. Previous owner for the white 411 obviously had a sense of humour too - no doubt someone will recognise it.
