twin rear spring plates to single

Post by Maccattack » 24th June 2017 - 5:09pm

Hi all, I want to run adjustable rear spring plates on my 69 irs fastback, however, I can only find adjustable plates for single type spring plate set up. Can I convert my twin plate set up to single and what do I need?

Ive been told I can do this but not sure if true?

Thanks

Aaron

I'm totally ignorant of such things, but do they work on the longer Type 3 torsion bars? The Heritage photo mentions 21 3/4" bars, and only the Type 1 Beetle and Ghia.

The standard late Type 3 spring plate is a 113 number so I would imagine so.
To change to swing axle would require the whole assembly - gearbox, rear subframe, cables etc
