Think 40amp may be too small, it's given me some ideas though thanks. An interwebs search for high output mini alternator gives a few options, I'd just have to make some brackets up, no hardship there?

They used to do a 55amp, but im not able to find it at the mo. I did get the details from work, just havent had time to post them up. Ill do it this evening. I promise!

That’s doable, I can fab a bracket up no problem. Just need an alternator more than 40amp, 50/60/70 would be better. I’ll do an interweb search sure there will be a high output mini alternator out there somewhere

The box at work is a bloody 40amp job too. But its made by brise its BRI5305. Hopefully that will help lead towards the higher amp version. Ill have a look

That's some money that? What is the current output of an original dynamo 30A?

447 for a 50amp generator - just wow
i know it looks original but - not needed if going on an original car :-)
