After market heating

Post by Jared1969 » 1st August 2018 - 6:57pm

Hi all

I would like to get an after market heating system for my 71 Squareback. I have an after market exhaust so heat exchangers not connected.

Have seen some old style erbespacher systems on eBay but a bit wary of second hand units. Is there anything out there someone else has used. I only need the heating for when I’m driving clearing the screen and keeping me warm.

Thanks

I cant help but say, isnt that what we all have heating for? :P

What makes you wary of second hand units? My mate mick installed one, see here viewtopic.php?f=4&t=10589&start=100#p60464

I bought a Webasto 12V diesel heater to fit to my square once the new engine is installed.
Less than £100 on eBay.

Thanks guys would like to get an original erbespacher but a bit like hens teeth and not sure why your going to get. Seems webasto style one from demon tweets. Looks compact and interesting. Want to use the car as much as possible so that may be the way forward as a starter. Or get a decent 2nd hand original exhaust and repair fix the underneath heater tubes etc. Cheers for your help

fit a Subaru engine with the radiator up front. Squeeze the engine coolant pipes into the centre tunnel. It’s gets chuffing hot in there now 🤯
