411 1972 Wiper motor

Post by Rob 400e » 14th August 2018 - 7:55pm

Before I twist my head off looking under the dash, can anyone tell me if the live feed is a multi plug ? Cheers .

Type 4 Parts book shows 4 separate connectors (normal 6.4mm? female).

Cheers Dave. Had to get my head under there anyway. Wipers not working but fuse not blown. Seems there is a live feed from the fuse to the wiper switch. This had become disconnected.

I guess that seems obvious, should give more detail... The live feed from the fuse to the wiper motor switch has a male to female connector situated just behind the clocks in the dash. I'm guessing it's been done to aid the removal of the wiper motor should the need arise.!

I think you need a live feed to park the wipers after you switch off the wiper switch.

Do watch out if you play with wipers without disconnecting the battery - you can cut a finger off, such is the power in the motor.

Didn't know that. I don't think I would be up for removing the wiper motor, a bit to much Athritis in the hands. Thank you for the info.
