Hi guys sorry another question!
My fastback likes to veer to the right unless I'm holding the wheel in a stable position.
Obviously I need to sort this so what are the likely courses?
I'm thinking steering box or steering damper?
When I lowered the front the ball joints had minimal wear as did the track end rods although will change them as there looking old.
Wayward steering
Re: Wayward steering
The most likely course is that you need a 4 wheel alignment.
I cant see how the box or the damper would pull you in one direction but not the other. The steering boxes wear and you end up with a vague feeling and needing a lot of steering wheel movement to get your wheels turning, the damper is there to remove shock loadings to the steering wheel when you hit bumps/holes ect.
Always start simple and inspect what you have (you have done)
Then move on to checking the alignment, dont forget the rear wheels need to be suitably aligned at you can adjust the toe on them, which is often affected during lowering.

Re: Wayward steering
Tracking, camber, tyre pressures, etc.
Any play in the beam? My old beam had loads of wear that couldn't be adjusted out and would go where it wanted to, especially on bumpy roads.
