So I'm going to order track end rods etc for my 72 fastback.... My question is how do I know what thread to buy? There's options for RH and LH threads... Little bit confused here lol.

you'll need both, one end is LH the other is RH. Thus means that by simply rotating the track rod you can lengthen or shorten it with out having to pop the ends out of the sockets

As broady says, you'll need one of each to make an adjustable track rod.

There's also the complication of needing an angled one for the short rod on the inner end, which are LH thread, and hard to find. The straight LH thread ones are common.
