Type 3 fuse board relays

Post by broady_6 » 6th February 2019 - 10:06pm

Does anyone have a photos of the fuse board for a type 3 with all the relays?

It has the Flasher at one end and the High/dipped beam at the end. Then space for 3 or 4 relays in the middle. Which relays are they and do you have photos of the pins with the terminal identification. I only as because I have got part of injection engine wiring loom in my car, as it was an injection engine originally. These wires reach the fuse box and id like to terminate them but cliping them into the correct slot on the fuse board, rather than

A. Removing them
B. Randomly sticking them in the fuse board blanks
C. Wrapping them in take and sticking them behind the dash

Its sad I know but it will future proof me plugging something in to and incorrectly wired fuse board if I ever return the car to injection.

I've spent about an hour searching through my stuff and the internet and cannot find an injection wiring manual anywhere

I did come across this though https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/manuals/type3.php

Nice downloads of driver manuals and some workshop guides. There's a fusebox picture but I didn't see a relay board picture

Cheers!

Ive got an injection wiring diagram, and it gives the pin outs of the relays, it just doesnt show where they mount. It would seem though that they mount on the bulk head, rather than the relay board.

So to slightly modify my question, what the hell mounts in the missing relay slots?

Heated rear screen?
eberspacher?
Fog Light?

Any help appreciated

Flasher relay, X-relay, intermittent wiper relay (My '73 that never made it to the road again had one). Mostly empty; maybe some obscure devices (not HRW or FI main relay (both under rear seat) or FI fuel pump relay (under dash on inner wing - driver's side).
