Type 3 Clock (late model) HELP!!

Post by SimonB_notch » 28th February 2019 - 4:52pm

Hi, recently bought this clock for my Type 3 Notchback and it doesn’t work.

Have looked at a number of the repair post online but can’t seem to find one for this later type of clock (think this is a transistorised electronic clock - has a date of 5.71 on the cover).

When I connect it up to a 12V power source the working parts start to work initially but then stop so power is getting to it i assume but something is stopping it from continuing to work (tried to add a photo but don't seem to be able to).

Only thing Ive done is spray it with a bit of WD40 as suggested on one of the posts on this forum.

Anyone able to help me out with suggestions on how to fix?

Many thanks.

Simon

What website do you use to host your photos? guides here

Id avoid WD40 on electrical components, it create a film on contacts which will stop it from working. Electrical contact cleaner is what you need, and lubricate moving parts with a graphite spray

iPhotos is a photo editor, bit photoshop ect. Its not used for hosting photos online. You'll need something like photobucket, flickr or image shack ect
