I am restoring a 1965 squareback, the previous owner put a standard beetle
brake cylinder in it with a jury rigged rod to the pedal I cant seem to locate a 1965 brake cylinder
and rod. Is there any good replacement fix for it.
Thanks, Bruce

Re: brake cylinder 1965 squareback
Master cylinder? I would strongly recommend you change to a later type 3 dual circuit master cylinder. Single circuit can be lethal.
VWH do a good dual circuit one. Alternatively try ISP west they do single circuit stuff, but its 400 dollars. Best bet is something like this

My 65 had the wrong master cylinder and rod put in
I have not been able to locate a correct unit, is there a substitute
that I can use if I cannot get an original.

Push rod wise, ill check and see if the later one was the same as earlier. If it was I think ive got a later one spare.
