NOT lowering

Post by Iain Pitchford » 27th August 2007 - 3:30pm

I got a saggy rear end!!

Got a 68 RHD fastback, had full resto placed on to a 73 (i think floor pan). After alot of trial and error 68 running gear used. Problem I have is with folks in the back it sits too low, and without exhaust box (Got a van one) hits the floor. I think someone maybe tried a budget lowering job as to perhaps conteract the low rear it has too bloody great weights in front bonnet!

I'm thinking I have to wind the splines back about 3 to 4 notches to make it more springy. Any science / meassuring required for this. How may notchs?, is they're an angle to measure aim for?

i'm no expert on the subject, but I would try getting some new rear shocks; i recently bought a type 1 for $350 (USD) and it seemed pretty good for the low price i bought it, but then i saw the rear was sagging quite a bit, even moreso with people in the back, (dragging my exhaust)

so i bought a new pair of shocks and replaced them and that went away

so really, in a nutshell, im just suggesting you check your shocks
