Is there such thing as a type 3 1300 engine? or where they 1500 etc
Sorry bit of a weird question.

I'm fairly sure the stroke is the same on all of them, 1300, 1500 and 1600. Just the bore that is different to give the change in cyl swept volume.
I presume the heads will have a part number like 113 101 373B for 1300; anything starting 311 is 1500 or 1600. You will need to remove a rocker cover to see the part number. I'm not an engine expert though - maybe someone else can give you another way to tell, or confirm this info.

So many possibilities! I will see if I can reveal all on Monday/Tuesday. Miketype3 I think that you have hit the nail on the headmiketyp3 wrote:I think the train of thought here DAB is that its more likely to be a Type 3 bottom end, with 1300 barrels and heads.
Have got a 1600 engine to go in tho, just gonna spend some time making it run like a dream first

Just a thought, and I hope it isn't too contraversial, but why do so few of you put a location on your profile? It'll bring you together very effectively.
It doesn't need as much detail as "23 Railway Cuttings, East Cheam", though Tony Hancock was a car enthusiast - old Rolls-Royces particularly.
Click on profile up near the Club Logo, and you can add it easily.
Dave.
