Hi I just bought a vw type 3 and i have a few questions but before I do I'll give you some idea of the car. It has been lowered by a spline and has 15" 5.5 wheels with th e1.6 engine. I wanted to know if it is possible to put taller wheels on the car when it has been lowered ( I find it revs too much).
Is it worth changing the suspension to coil overs?

I can't imagine you'll get a larger profile, so you'll have to go to a bigger section.
There's a site for looking for sections that will give the same diameter, keeping speedo and gearing as stock - http://www.etyres.co.uk/tyre-size-calculator.htm
You'll have to check with the performance guys here to see what fits under the wings without rubbing.
etyres.co.uk also supply stock size but you would have to ask about specific brands.
Looks to be plenty of choice though, and their prices including mobile fitting.
