There's advice on this on the Information and Updates forum - you need to have the photo on the web somewhere already, and it mustn't be in a password-protected site or we don't get to see it!

I want to avoid putting photos in our webspace - it would quickly grow too big to afford the bandwidth. Sorry about that.

I've taken the panel off, and think it's there more to help in the radius forming than strengthening, seeing as theirs not much flex in a panel that size.

To swage or not to swage - that is the question.

The swages are in a flat area - I imagine they are needed to stiffen the panel. If you are capable of rolling the swages in the panel, I am impressed - maybe there are some repair panels we could get you to make!

Not many people get to see this panel - most of it hides behind the fuel tank. I doubt there is any need for it to look original.

I realised that the swage blends into the curved area, which lead me to think that it was more of an aid to forming the curved bit, there's quite a few complex curves in that panel , going up and across, and the swage would help in stopping the skin from distorting when pulling that shape, (if car stuff is anything like aeroplane making)
i didn't put the swage in after all, as it ws stiff enough, and like you said, it isn't seen very often.
Cheekily I've updated the link so you can see what I'm on about.
