Hub caps!

Post by easy » 30th April 2010 - 12:04pm

Does anyone know if i can get a set of domed hub caps for earlynotch/type 3 steels?. They usually fit the flat jobs, but would prefer to run the domed sort if possible.

The short answer is no...

Domed caps fit on clips that work on the inside of the cap.
Type 3 ones fit on pressings on the wheel and work on the outside of the cap.

You may be able to cobble some way of holding them on though.

... and if you're selling early type 3 caps let me know - I love em!

Early Type 3 rims have a totally different hub cap fitting to later cars and all Type 4's Arcane.
Where as yours fit "over" the rim, pre 66 3's fit into it.
Its exactly the same fitting as 66 / 67 beetles have.
