I have recently replaced the shocks and springs on my 1997 mk 3 vr6 due to wear. The car has been lowered by 30mm with uprated sports suspension, new top mounts and bump stops were fitted. The rear suspension seems to squeak when driving over any mildly rough road surface, it seems to be coming from the vicinity of the rear top mounts. I have dropped the suspension down and slightly greased the top mounts to no avail. I was wondering if anyone else had expirienced the same problem, and what was the outcome.
