small oil leak....any ideas folks (pic)
look at the picture....the blue circle shows a small pool of oil.
Id done about 5 miles and there was NO OIL...
did another 5 and what you can see was there...
I cant seem to locate any obvious place it leaked from.
any ideas??

looks like it could be coming from the fuel pump gasket or the breather box base gasket

That'll be your answer dude
Re: small oil leak....any ideas folks (pic)
I had the same looking leak and it was the complete lack of a gasket on the breather/filler box - made a new one out of cork and hey presto - cured!
Now just leaks out of push rod tube seals instead (obviously!!!)

Impressive - Yuri Geller could do that well!
There are different lengths of push-rod for Beetle pumps, depending on whether they are used for a Beetle with dynamo or alternator. Could be that's what happened.
Otherwise, the plastic guide sleeve can cause the rod to jam when it gets old and swells a bit with oil. I'd be surprised if that had caused it, but I guess it's possible.
