Dont take passengers
Raise it up to a sensible height
Check that you've got bumpstops & if not reinstate them

Which end is bottoming?,

Do you have a lower aftermarket exhaust?, hitting this could cause the head studs to snap and you really dont want that,,

standard shocks dont have enough travel for a extremely lowered car so these wont help, and unless there uprated gas ones then then wont do anything to stiffen your ride.

easy check is to look under the front bumper be side the wheels, you should / need to see this type of set up,,

If the arm with the 2 rubbers on is not there then you prob need to go to a vw friendly garage and ask for help or if the rubbers are missing then start by getting some, the ones shown are beetle rears cut down and Ive used the standard front ones on the rear of the car as the originals are HUGE and both have the same mounts.

Unusual for the back to bottom out as there is loads of travel but it could also be your tyres, is it a bang or a scuff? :unibrow:

Ps the pic is from a car that is lowered by around 1-1.5" all round.
