Engine noise on tick over Type 4 2.5 Turbo Diesel

Hi, can anybody recognise my problem please. I have a tapping noise in the top of the engine of my T4 a bit like an old fashioned engine with a cam follower problem. Seems to go off at 2000 rpm. Has been suggested it may be the brake vacuum pump but this is not so. It has also been suggested it (may be) an injector noise but it could be an expensive exerise to replace, to find out that it's not.

I think you have the wrong sort of T4!

You certainly do have the wrong type T4 for this forum! That said the vacuum pump rod is a very common problem on diesel T4's (even a small bit of wear makes them tap). If not could be a hydraulic tappet, try some engine flush and an oil change.
