rear seatbelts

Post by justprawn » 6th October 2006 - 10:20pm

Hi

Can anybody tell me whether a '67 Fastback has rear mounting points for seatbelts or is it a case of welding them in.

Cheers

Sean

Seat belt mounts

I can't be sure, but parts are mentioned in the book for rear quarter mounting and luggage compartment floor for chassis numbers below 425,000 (July 64) so that suggests they were there earlier. Yours would be the 5/16* thread, whereas some of the earlier ones were a much larger hole and needed an adaptor to take modern bolts.

* Oops - Delboy points out it's 7/16ths. If you've the older large hole mountings, they need an adaptor from M24x1.5 to 7/16th. It's part 311 857 761 - good luck finding one!

99% of all cars (including all ACVWs) use 7/16" UNF threads for seat belts.
