Type 4 Map

Post by kps70 » 16th September 2010 - 10:25pm

Shawn pipped me to the post. I've been trawling through the forum trying to find where the owners and cars live, at least those that are probably still on the road and those that might be soonish. I've made a map in powerpoint.
If you can help me add/amend the picture, that would be great, thanks. I'll try to use Shawn's last thread about the roll call to help me keep the picture up to date.

Youve missed out Jim Bourne (Club President),Who is in Barcombe,Lewes
Pics of his car here:viewtopic.php?f=31&t=4727

And the Terry's-shawn will tell you what theyve got

the only data i've got is the 2003 list,which shows 9X 411 sedan,4X412 sedan,15X411 variant,& 19X 412 variant
And interestingly, only 1 amongst that breakdown is on your list so far!

Great,
Should we go for Malvern VW show 2011 to see how many we can get in 1 place as this seems closest to most owners ?

Is this the same show as Vanfest? Never been to this one but it could be fun if can get a 'big' line up of Type 4s.

I guess Ron is talking about BVF at Malvern - I went two years ago and there were 3 type 4's there, 2 sedans and my variant.
I am certainly going to BVF next year.
So, perhaps a 25 year celebration of the club with a line up of 10 type 4's.
We have the technology!

Here's a try for a world-wide Type 4 map, hope it works, everybody can enter the own destination.

http://maps.google.de/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=de&msa=2

Seems like it's not gonna showing my just entered destination, anybody knows how that works, maybe?

Hi - Thanks to Bernie's great idea, I have created a google map and have started putting in the cars. This way, we can get the US and Mainland Europe (and beyond) included - cool!
Once I figure out how to get you guys logged in then we can get everyone to input and edit their own details. Watch this space
Kieron
p.s. Bernie - I have sent you a pm

This is the link to the map.
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF&m ... 50a00c6026
I've only put 4 people in so far and put in links to pictures of the cars where possible. When I put cars up, perhaps the owners could send me links to pictures of the cars if they are missing (saves me searching around!)
Thanks
Kieron
ps. Please let me know if the link I gave you allows you to edit the map. It probably doesn't.
