If you haven't done so already...
then I advise you to fit a second bonnet release cable as it's a right pain inthe a*** when it snaps and all your shopping is stuck in there
The snapping of the release cable prompted me this afternoon to run a second cable to behind the N/S light surround which is threaded through a small hole drilled in the light mount which is then connected to the release mechanism. This means if I should be unlucky enough to have the cable snap again I just need to undo two screws, the ones that hold the light surround, and then yank on the cable hiding there to gain access to the front boot.
Thus, this second cable alleviates the need to remove the light surround, remove the driving light and then undo the central bolt that holds the plastic cover in place inside the boot (which in itself is a pain). Once this done you would either have to reach your arm into the boot space through the narrow light opening and fumble for the mechanism OR reach you arm through the narrrow light opening to find the sheath/conduit for the cable, hope it isn't broken at the mechanism end, cut the sheath/conduit to free the cable in order to give it a good yank. All this faffing about results in a scratched forearm, lots of cursing, more cursing when you have to try and push your tool bag away the light cover inside the boot and then having to put it all back together
So, don't put it off, do it whilst you can still open the boot

Better than the Type 3 where a hole has to be drilled through the front panel!
Dave.

Wise words Shawn, take heed everyone! I can vouch for this being an absolute ball ache which I never want to go through again.
