Should we save this for spares?

Post by kps70 » 24th April 2011 - 7:54pm

Just spotted on fleabay
250809739731
I've contacted the bloke to tell him NOT to scrap it as we need the parts.
Anyone up for a share of this?

I can't chip in for a share at the moment but to anyone else looking at it the bumpers, seats, bonnet, boot llid, switches, lights etc must make it worth the asking price.

Its a fairly wide stretch of the imagination to call that Corsham!
Its on the Holt road out of bradford
Never spotted it,but theres a lethal corner there that means you concentrate on the road

Kieron,if you end up stripping it in situ,I can offer tools & time, but cant help with storage or transport of parts

OK - I have a proposal. The guy can deliver it to me for 50 quid on top of the sale price (150 at the moment) and I have the space to store it.
If people wanted to put money in and share it with me as a resource, we could toss a coin then take alternate choices of parts. I can strip off whatever needs taking off it then bring the bits to a show or post it (if you paid the postage).
From the description and pictures it seems to have the rear wishbones (useful), a gearbox (great), master cylinders, all the usual knobs and switches, high back seats, glass, lights, bumpers which look okay. All this needs saving. The bloke is adamant that he will scrap it (I messaged him to check)
It finishes this evening (Monday)
Let me know ASAP

Only you can decide Kieron whether you can see £200 worth of spares for yourself...Type 4 parts are incredibly difficult to get rid of,as youve seen!..

I'd be interested, but I live a long way away, also I suspect the bits that I would like are probably the most popular items that others in the purchasing group would also want, plus the wings are missing which I could do with!

Ok - it did not sell.
i cannot really afford to go all in after my recent accident, but I just cannot bear to see this go to the scrappy, unless someone can get down there and strip it before it is crushed!
If someone else did come in with me then the spares could be divided fairly on a one for you, one for me basis.
I've contacted him again!

Hi all,
Last night I gave him a long list of parts we'd want off it. So far 2 others have said they'd be interested in a share. I'm waiting for him to get back to me. He may just deliver the lot removed from the car which would be a bonus!

It's on my drive. It is a bit of a shed (inner wings gone) but there are plenty of parts and the doors and bonnet look good.
Looks like 2 others are in for a share, or it could be 3? Andy?
To help you all decide, shall I list the parts and let you know the condition?
If it were 4 of us, then it would be £50 each for a quarter of all the parts. Sounds like a bargain to me!
I am planning to go to BVF at Malvern plus one or two other shows this year.

50. Knob, gearstick (1)
There are probably some other odds and sods lying around like jack and spare wheel etc
Looks like BumbleBee72 is coming up on the weekend to get some bits. I want it to be a fair grab so how about we do it this way:
a) Whoever is in sends me a paypal payment of £25 to secure a place (pm me to get details)
b) I confirm receipt then you pm me your wishlist in order of priority e.g. 36, 23, 10, 7, 11, 17, 28 etc. until you run out of bits you want.
c) I share out the parts in order of your preference, starting with the person who paid the deposit first and going round, one part at a time. I will wait until Saturday before I share out the parts.
d) We sort out how I can get the parts to you!
e) You give me the balance when you get your hands on the parts.
I think this seems fair.
If there were just two of us in the deal then the balance would be £75 but then you'd get half the parts.
If there were 3 of us (seems likely), then the balance would be £40 but you'd get 1/3 of the parts
If there were 4 (possible if Andy is in) then the balance would be £25 and you'd get a 1/4
If there were 5 (unlikely) then the balance would be £15 and you'd get 1/5
Is there a flaw in this?!
Kieron
