clutch cylinder bleeding

Post by pmacs49 » 2nd May 2014 - 10:37pm

Clutch adjustment, the clutch has gone slack on my type 4, with a bit of investigation I see its a hydraulic one, so can anyone tell me were is the filling tank for it, as there is one in the front which I assume is for the brakes, as I have bled and topped the one up.

There is only one reservoir, which you have found, it feeds both brake circuits and the clutch.

The bleed nipple is on the clutch slave cylinder on top of the gearbox.

Yes thanks, found that today
I found using my guns on easy bleed kit, it's the one you screw on the reservoir, and pressurised from a spare wheel with 20lb max,it worked a treat, on this were as on the Beetle trying to do the brakes was rubbish,

Well my camper passed the mot today, and know I think the 412 is ready, just a bit of a tune up, all good to run about in :)
