Looks like it was Danny Lord who made the arrangements last year, try sending him a PM message

Yeah I organised it last year, had space for 10 cars, had 2 turn up, so unless someone else wants to organise it I'l pass this year.

There were more of us than that, four or five I seem to recall, 250 miles that day, rough running most of the way back as the balance pipe rubbers had perished again.

I never actually found the club plot last year as was in the autojumble all day, I'm sure someone told me there was only one Notch and a type 4.

I wouldn't have a clue how to organise this type of event. It's going to be touch and go if I'm there in my type 4, still filling and preping. Will be there regardless even if I'm in my Focus. Need to visit the Auto jumble.

I do that too, try to go in the 412 but wind up taking the Focus!

Gave up on VW Northwest 8 or 9 years ago. Went looking for parts when planning the Body Off rebuild of the Type 3. Found nothing. Hardly any Aircooled stuff at all.

Took Variant to Leighton Hall Classic Car Show last Sunday, 1st July. Can’t believe how much interest people showed in my car ! So many photos taken. Still it was the only Type 3 amongst 500 or so Cars.

Met up with Paul Irving ( irvsvwrestorations.co.uk ) as he wanted to see the Variant.

Ive asked to be in the display, i had to sign to say my car will be clean lol lol.
they'll have a concourse allocated place, i went 4 yrs ago and got runner up, considering i only just got it mot and running never mind cleaning it i did that there., after driving up there, motorway it was not to bad, the rear brakedrum was hot, so i brought a screw driver and manage to knock the adjuster off a couple of clicks, trouble free journey back home with a trophy.
