Hi all. I'd lke to invite you all to the Horsham meet which is held the first Saturday of every month, come rain, wind, snow or show.
It's a fairly new meet which has been running since November last year. It was born out of a realisation that there weren't many meets in our area. Nick (mclarni) and myself both being members of TheSVWOC had the choice of 2 monthly meets. One in Lagney and one in Shoreham By Sea. Both mid week and both in the evening. We decided that as we could rarely make those we wondered who was in a similar situation? We also wanted it to be family friendly so we decided upon the first Saturday of the month at 3pm at The Hornbrook Inn, Horsham, West Sussex. From the ammount of people who have attended so far it would seem quite a few! Being children freindly is also great as most of us have children who we have brainwashed into the VW way. It's really just a good excuse to get out of the house on a Saturday afternoon and meet up and have a drink with like minded people. If you have a VW.......No matter what shape or form.....we'd love you to bring it along.....If it's not on the road or you haven't got one yet that's fine too! It's more about the people than the vehicles. Having said that we have had a couple of 412's come along. It would be great to see some more Type 3's & 4's in the car park.
So it would be great to see you on the 6th of February if you’re in the area at about 3pm at The Hornbrook Inn, Horsham, West Sussex.
Here's the pubs details just in case you don't know where it is...... http://www.pub-explorer.com/wsussex/pub ... orsham.htm
For those of you who haven't made it yet. There's a good sized car park with sensible sized spaces for your pride and joys to wait for you in. The Landlord of the Hornbrook plans to save us an area as this has become a successful regular event. I'm sure members from The Sussex VW Owners, West Sussex VW Owners & Club 80-90 will be out in force as usual.
If you can't make it along this month, we meet up the first Saturday of every month at 3pm. This isn't a club event. It's open to all… However it is a family affair. So feel free to bring your children with you..….Mine will be there!
There's good beer.....Pickled Partridge being my fave.
The staff are friendly and they serve food from noon ‘til 9.30pm.
From noon ’til 5pm they do a lunchtime menu starting at £5.99 for 1 course, £7.99 for 2 and £9.99 for 3 courses.
They have baby changing facilities and dogs are allowed in the pub (in selected areas).
Hope to see you there.
Andy

Another great turnout today. Especially for the Easter weekend! Thanks to all that came along and made it a great afternoon. Lot's of nice busses, beetles and a nice yellow fastback... I'll let the pictures do the talking. Oh and I managed to take a few with people in this month. I did notice that it's funny how the moment I got my camera out people started to scatter to get out of the way. It was great to see so many children this month..... The weather held off and we spent the afternoon in the garden... The first of many I hope.
Oh and if you've made it down this far you'll be interested to hear that as of next month's meet we have secured a 10% discount (terms and conditions apply) next door at Camping World. I'll be sorting out the fine details during this month and I think we'll have some sort of card system. This discount will only be valid for the first Saturday of the month at the Horsham meet....So don't go along trying to claim your 10% until you come along on May 1st...I'll put more details up when I have them...

We had quite a good turnout for a damp Saturday afternoon. Including some die hard buggy owners!
Here's some pics to get you going....
More can be found here at the Horsham VW Meet's Gallery page for August.
Don't forget about 'Saturday Swap Shop' and the 10% discount at Camping World
See you in September.

Re: Horsham meet, come one come all.
Hey all,
Need to let everyone know that the Horsham VW Meet tomorrow is going to be held at The Shelley Arms in Broadbridge Heath. This is due to the Hornbrook being re-furbished.
So on the 2nd of March 2013 the Horsham VW Meet will be held at:
The Shelley Arms, Old Guildford Rd, Horsham, West Sussex RH12 3JU
01403 253406
The pub serves good food and beer, is child friendly, has a good childrens play area in it's secure garden, it is dog friendly but dogs are not allowed in the garden for health and hygeine reasons.
Please help spread the word to all that may not check out this page.
Cheers
