I know Stanford is celebrating 50 years of the Type 3 but is there room for a Type 4 to gate-crash? Are any other Type 4s going to be there?

I've just looked at the Google satellite view, and compared the space of the corner plot with the cars parked in the drive. It's going to be pretty tight, but as long as you ignore the Google scale, and work on the spacing of the parked cars in the drive, it looks possible to get 50 Type 3s on the open part, which doesn't take into account the tree canopy area.

That suggests there should be some spare area, but it might be better to ask for the first part of the open area beyond the trees to ensure there's a Type 4 area too. The Type 3&4 Club is celebrating 25 years as well and it would be a shame to exclude the other part of the club from our display.

I think we'll have to arrange a recce with a few cars to line up and establish that we don't have a problem!
Dave.

Stanford was one of the few shows we wanted to attend this year, so yes we will be there Danny.

The other shows we are wanting to attend this year are VW Action, Volksfarmers and the Brighton Breeze.

From Rownhams its surprisingly only 2hrs 20mins. I reckon we ought to allow another hour, for petrol stops etc, just to be on the safe side.
So if we need to be there for 9.00 am, then we would need to leave Rownhams by 5.40 am.

We would get to Chieveley services about 6.20 -6.30, where we could meet up with anyone else who might be traveling along the m4??
Its then a further 1hr 45 mins to Stanford, so assuming we went straight away from Chieveley we would get to Stanford for 8.10. Obviously it will be later than that, by the time we've filled up, had a coffee etc etc.

Does that sound good with you guys?
Sounds good to me Tris, thanks. I'll make sure I'm at Rownhams by 5.30. Really looking forward to Stanford, gonna be awesome :D

Tris, we could maybe also schedule a stop at Cherwell Valley services on the M40/A43 junction, it's on the way?

I was looking at either the M25 - M1 or M25 - M40 as I'm coming from near Gatwick airport.

The M40/A43 would be good. Or a service station near there?

Cheers Danny,

Yes, still going ahead as mentioned earlier.
The plan is...

Meet up at Ibis Hotel, J18 M1 http://www.ibishotel.com/gb/hotel-3588- ... tion.shtml 11 - 11.30 for the drive to Coventry Transport Museum (Ralfi... don't worry, we'll wait for you).

Unfortunutly the Talbot owners club have said they need all the plaza in front of the museum, but the museum have kindly said we can use the yard at the rear for secure parking.
Space there is limited, so I can you please let me know me if you are coming?
That way, I'll have time then to find an alternitive if I need to.

There'll be food there, but also alternatives nearby as its close to the city centre - you can of course bring your own grub and admire the all those Talbots!

After we are all done we can have a steady drive back to the hotel, and those of us that are staying there can check in.
BTW, I've noticed the room rate is starting to creep up, so if you plan to stay then I should book it asap.

There's also a deal at the Holiday Inn on the other side of the motorway that includes a free bottle of wine - that might interest a few of you... ;)

...and if anyone is camping at Stanford its only 10 mins away, and I'll happily show you the way there if you need me to.

For the evening I was hoping to book a table somewhere local to eat.
I was thinking pub grub, and there's somewhere in Crick that's come recommended.

Again If you could please let me know how many to book for, I'll get it sorted. It'll probably be a popular weekend, so I should book something soon.

Sunday morning those staying in the area can convoy to Stanford Hall together.
We'll arrange a time so if you're coming up the M1 you can stop off and join us.

I'm looking forward to what I think will be a terrific weekend.
A massive well done to Danny for not only orgainising the display and getting 50 cars, but actually exeeding that number!

Amazing! :D

Hi there. Would like to join you guys on the display at Stanford Hall. Got an Orange Variant T3 which was at BVF last year and spoke to a guy on the club stand there (can't remember the name) who was quite keen for me to join in. Sorry to say not a member as involved in too many clubs already but happy to bring the car down to Stanford Hall. How do I sign up?

Alan.

Sorry just seen that it is full. Stick me on the list of reserves if you can. Cheers.
