Can someone explain to me why I can't get my photos to display like everyone else's

You need to link the pictures own url address. You're link was to a page with lots of information including a link to the picture so to the forum it doesn't look like a picture.

To get a picture's actual specific url, right click on it, and select properties. Then triple click on the address to highlight it all and copy it by pressing 'ctrl v' Then use that adress with the [img] command.

However that Picasa is a bit fussy and doesn't give you a good link from the page you linked to. To find the pictures url I had to run the slideshow and do the right click thing from that.
