ECCLES 70 NOTCH, YELLOW SB (updated the notch pics)
hi there been lurking a while and today i decided to join up and say hi
my name is Eccles and i live in south east burbs of melbourne
always lived inner city and rode bikes therefore started collecting bikes
not just road bikes but all types of bikes
a few years go pass and i get married have a couple of lil ones and have to move to the burbs, now at this stage im 33 and never drove, cycling became a hassle as i lived so far away now
so came time to drive and get my first car
always wanted a type 3 and the wife told me to get one as i would kick myself if i didnt
so 5 months ago i got this
and a couple months ago she looked like this
had heaps of mech work done and the body work is a long term project, already got the bad rust
and this was 2 weeks ago
and as she sits today
and some of the little things i have gathered for her
hope you guys like her

Re: Aussie lad and his 1970 notch
German designation for 1600s is 1600 for Notch, 1600L for Notch with higher spec trim, 1600 T for Fastback, TA for basic trim and TL for de luxe trim, 1600A for basic trim Variant, 1600L Variant for de luxe. Then there can be an E on the end (eg TLE) for fuel injection rather than twin carb. The Aussie TS was a higher spec they made for their market, I understand.

Re: Aussie lad and his 1970 notch

Re: Aussie lad and his 1970 notch
Fascinating - even if OT (and ott?). I hope it doesn't start an "I'm more odd than you" thread, though. We've already proved we're not normal by running 40 year-old (and more) cars.
