Is that a Sea blue 64/65 1500S? We had one of those - I got it at 10 years after Mum and Dad had used it from new. Alreday rusty by then.

We had a lot of trouble with fuel grade - only some brands worked OK without pinking, even with the highest grade available back then. There's a special system for ignition timing, involving slowing down the idle to 700 rpm by removing one or two plug leads - maybe they weren't doing it right at first, as by the time I got it, there didn't seem to be a problem. Better fuels too, probably. Details at http://home.clara.net/hallvw/type3ign.htm
