my Fasty

Post by davecrook1 » 2nd January 2013 - 11:00pm

I bought this as,a quick project to do up and sell on. But it hasn't turned it that way..

Here it is.. Body is solid and complete after someone had started doing it up and quit..

The chap said it just needs a quick engine rebuild which i thought was going to be easy
So took the engine out as you do

And it looked ok

I noticed something odd about the case

So as you can imagine it's a bad engine..

Damaged, 3 barrels, snapped the cam in 3 pieces, bent the con rod smashed the inside of the case.. Total rebuild basically

that's some serious damage...
At least you have all the engine ancillaries, tinware, carbs and ducting - just look for a dual port engine with universal mount on the front for the type 3 engine hanger bar.
The car looks nice and straight which makes up for the engine - good luck with the project.
The variant Project

yes, the engine is the least of your worries, having a good solid starting point is more important! you could spend months and months doing sheet metal but an engine rebuild in a few weekends :)
