Bit of an update, although I wanted to keep as much original paint as possible I didnt want it to look rough! So the scabs have been treated and some paint blended in

I'm liking this squareback, cool little retro motor.

Boring tyre question alert - can I ask what tyres you're running on those stock steels, and how many splines front / rear it's lowered?

Cheers,

James.

I can't answer either question  I didn't lower it that was done by the PO, I'm guessing 2 splines. As for the tyres I will look next time I'm at the yard

Aha, answered my own question I think. I've looked back at old pics in the thread and unless you've changed them the tyres on the steels were 165/65/15.

Sorted.

So I had a day off work and took the dog to the yard and set about turning my 1776 T2 motor into a type3 8)

Here's what I started with, it's a '71 motor judging by the engine code but I'm not sure of its displacement tho I have a receipt for 1700 B&Ps

Image

And this is the engine out my bus

Image

I stripped the tin off the T2 unit

Image

Now I know the svda will foul the generator so ill index the dog gear on the dissy to turn the vac round for clearance. Other than that I don't really see a problem

One nearly naked t3 unit

Image

And on with some t3 tin

Image

Ok so I didn't get much further than that. Besides the short IDF manifolds didn't arrive

Will get on with it next week and get it fitted

A bit of progress, well actually a lot

Engine is in 8)

Image

Just got the carbs to fit, though there is a small space issue

Image

The upright for the hex linkage is a little close to the engine lid, going to try and lower the engine to make some space.....

Also the ns inlet is a complete bitch to fit  thanks to CJ Motors for the work so far

All going in the right direction tho, should be on the road in a week or two.....
