Yes, the Texas yellow 412 Variant has been shown for years since the Langley brothers first restored it. I think they take it to some non-VW shows, but I expect it will be at Malvern this weekend. I don't think it gets used much though, apart from concours appearances.

That Texas Yellow 412 is a truly stunning car. I remember seeing it when it was first restored (about 1989?). To keep it in such perfect condition for the intervening eighteen years or so must take some effort!

i do agree it is stuning but when you never use a car only for shows then its quite easy
but thats my opinion i have never liked trailer queens much prefer to see used show cars than ££££££££ restos

Actually plumcrazee, the two brothers who own(ed) the yellow one DPY worked hard to get it looking as good. There's a description in a past club mag where they explained what had to be done. I wish I had kept my Variant in a garage - it would have still been lovely! Instead the rubbish we have stored is in good condition.

I agree there is a lot of respect in a used car. But as for that yellow one, a nice car is still a nice car.

Just to remind you guys, that yellow 412 wasn't a £££££££ restoration - the brothers did it themselves for relatively little cost, on a 70,000-odd mile 412.
